This study primarily focuses on comparative experimental analysis on standalone conventional solar still (CSS), inclined solar still (ISS), and integrated conventional and inclined solar still (CSS‐ISS) for different parameters that affect the freshwater yield. For enhancing the freshwater yield only a few studies are available on still‐still integration. The present novel study provides a greater improvement in improving the freshwater yield by integrating ISS with CSS. This experimental work mainly concentrates on the importance of water depth (d w) and mass flow rate of water ( m w) in the solar still. Water depth inside the conventional still varied from 0.02 to 0.06 m whereas, water is constantly flown with a mass flow rate of 8.33 kg/hour in an ISS with baffles. The experimental result shows that the accumulated freshwater yield from CSS‐ISS, ISS, and CSS were 6.2, 5.04, and 4.24 kg, respectively. CSS‐ISS and ISS produced 46.23% and 18.87% higher productivity than the CSS. From the experimental investigation, it is also identified that the water temperature is significantly improved by 20% using integration as compared with CSS without integration under the same water depth of d w = 0.02 m. The overall improvement in yield was higher in the case of CSS‐ISS. The deviations between experimental and theoretical values of yield from the conventional and modified solar still were in the range of ±7%. 相似文献

The electrical transport properties of graphene-oxide (GO) thin films were investigated. The GO was synthesized by a modified Hummers method and was characterized by X-ray diffraction and UV-visible spectroscopy. The thin film of GO was made on a Si/SiO2 substrate by drop-casting. The surface morphology of the GO film was analyzed by using scanning electron microscopy and atomic force microscopy techniques. Temperature dependent resistance and current-voltage measurements were studied using four-terminal method at various temperatures (120, 150, 175, 200, 250 and 300 K) and their charge transport followed the 3D variable range hopping mechanism which was well supported by Raman spectra analysis. The presence of various functional groups in GO were identified by using high resolution X-ray photo electron (XPS) and Fourier transform infra red (FT-IR) spectroscopic techniques. Graphene-oxide thin film field effect transistor devices show p-type semiconducting behavior with a hole mobility of 0.25 cm2 V−1 s−1 and 0.59 cm2 V−1 s−1 when measured in air and vacuum respectively. 相似文献

Nanocrystalline mechanically alloyed powders of 9Cr-1Mo ferritic steels with and without yttria dispersoids were densified using spark plasma sintering (SPS) to near-theoretical density at a temperature of 1073 K (800 °C). Studies on densification behaviour revealed that steels with dispersoids densified faster when compared to Fe-9Cr-1Mo steel. The processes followed for developing anticipatory standards such as those for web services are still not well-understood. In spite of the openness of the process, there are few analyses that shed light on the roles that different participants play or the actions they engage in during the development of these standards. We analyze archival documents that capture development of SOAP, a core web service standard. Our analysis shows that participants spend a bulk of their time discussing technical issues, identifying action items, and engaging in discussion to reach consensus. These activities reveal prototypical roles that participants take on such as: Advocate, Architect, Bystander, Critic, Facilitator, Guru, and Procrastinator. Together, the findings support the existence of three clusters in standards development processes: design activities performed by Architects, sense-making activities performed by Critics, and managerial activities performed by Facilitators; along with the important activity of coordinating the work of multiple participants. We discuss implications of our findings and identify opportunities for future work. 相似文献

Four pilot-scale lysimeters were used to study the benefits of landfill operation with and without leachate recirculation in tropical weather conditions. Young and old landfills were simulated by filling lysimeters with a segregated fraction of fresh municipal solid waste (MSW) and MSW mined from an open dump site, respectively, and periodically monitoring leachate quantity and quality and biogas quality. For each substrate, one lysimeter was operated as a bioreactor with leachate recirculation and another lysimeter was operated as a controlled dump, for a period of 10 months. Densities between 652 and 825??kg/m3 could be achieved with fresh and mined MSW. Despite such compaction during waste placement, bioreactor technology helps in leachate management, especially in the case of the young landfill lysimeter operated in tropical weather. The benefits of leachate recirculation in the young landfill lysimeter were evident from the significant decrease in chemical oxygen demand (COD) (86%), biochemical oxygen demand (BOD) (82%), dissolved organic carbon (DOC) (85%), and volatile solids (75%) in leachates. However, ammonia nitrogen (amm-N) and chlorides in the leachates accumulated in bioreactor landfills. Operating an old landfill lysimeter as a bioreactor seemed to have no exceptional advantage in the context of leachate management, although leachate recirculation enhanced the methane potential of both fresh and mined MSW. 相似文献
